Tour summary

Day 1   : Arrival in Delhi. Then transfer to a hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2   : Drive to Rishikesh. On the way stop to visit Haridwar. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Day 3   : Morning game drive, then yoga session. Afternoon visit temples in Rishikesh and evening Aarati ceremony. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Day 4   : Drive to Chandigarh. Afternoon visit Rock garden, The Capitol and Sukhana lake. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Day 8   : Dharmshala to Delhi by flight. In Delhi, visit Qutab Minar, Jama Masjid and stroll in Old Delhi market. Overnight in Delhi

Day 1

Arrival in Delhi

Arrival in Delhi International Airport, meet and greet with our representative. Then transfer to the Hotel. Rest of the time is free. Overnight at a hotel in Delhi.
Day 2

Delhi to Rishikesh

Check out early in the morning to go to Rishikesh by road. The distance between Delhi and Rishikesh is 240 km and takes approximately 6 hours. Before arriving in Rishikesh, we stop in Haridwar, literally meaning door to god, that is situated on the bank of the Ganges which is a holy place for Hindus. Even the whole city is considered a holy city. So, a lot of people come here to pay homage to the god habited in this city. This is also where the plains end and mountains and hills start. After visiting this site, we move to the hotel near Rajaji National Park, near Rishikesh. Overnight stay in a hotel in Rishikesh.
Day 3

Jeep Safari and Rishikesh

Early morning, we go to game drive for three hours in the national park. Then a yoga session before lunch. Afternoon drive to Rishikesh to visit different temples in the bank of Ganges. In the evening, participate the Aarati ceremony (offering of flame) to Ganges. After the ritual return back to the hotel. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 4

Rishikesh to Chandigarh

Early morning, we leave for Chandigarh. It will take approximately 7 hours to reach our destination. Once we arrive in Chandigarh, check in at a hotel. Afternoon, visit Rock Garden, a massif open air exhibition hall that displays sculptures made from urban and industrial wastes that have been designed and executed by Nek Chand, a former Road Inspector in Chandigarh. If time permits, we will visit The Capitol, Housing the Legislative Assembly, the Secretariat, and the High Court. These are an architectural prodigy composed of twofold cover, which appears like an overturned umbrella and designed by Le Corbusier. And finally, Sukhna Lake for a sun set view. The lake is a man-made in the foothills of Siwalek hill. Return back to hotel. Overnight in Chandigarh.
Day 5

Chandigarh to Amritsar

Drive to Amritsar from Chandigarh, approximately 4 hours. After check in at a hotel, tour of Sri Harmandir Sahib, famously known as Golden Temple, the most sacred shrine of all Sikh of the world. The temple was rebuilt by Maharaja Ranjeet Singh in 1830 purely with marble and 24kt gold. We visit the Langar (mass-dinner) hall which serves food non-stop for 12 hours, feeding over 100,000 people in a day. After we go to Wagah Border and witness the flag ceremony in between the India and Pakistan border. Then we return to the hotel. Overnight in Amritsar.
Day 6

Amritsar to Dharamshala

Approximately 4 and half hour drive in the morning to Dharmshala. On the way, visit a tea garden and possibly have a degustation of tea. Here we can observe the procedure of making tea. Then go to a hotel. Check in and tour of Norbulingka, a Tibetan center for learning and preserving traditional Tibetan art and craft. Visit various workshops where you will meet the artists working on making different artifacts. Then we visit Dolma Ling nunnery to see the daily life of nuns. Afterwards, return to the hotel. Overnight in Dharamshala.
Day 7

Dharamshala

After breakfast, drive to Naddi village to start an easy walk up in the mountain. Naddi is a Gaddi tribal village. Walking through Naddi village we enter into dense cedar forest. It is leveled walk for two hours from Naddi to Bhagsu village. En route we visit a Buddhist stupa and some meditation huts in the middle of the forest where old Tibetan monks do tantric practice and meditation. Walk ends in Bhagsu Nag village. Indian lunch in a village house with an Indian lady. After lunch drive to Mcleod Ganj to visit Namgyal Monastery (H.H. Dalai Lama's Temple) . Afternoon free time in the Tibetan market in Mcleod Ganj. Evening experience an Ayurvedic Massage for an hour. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dharamshala.
Day 8

Dharamshala to Delhi by flight

Morning, drop at the Dharamshala Airport. Then flight to Delhi. From the airport we visit Qutab Minar, symbol of victory attached to the Quwwatu’l – Islam mosque for the use of the muadhdhin (crier) to call the people to prayer. It was built by Qutbu’d-Din Aibak in the beginning of the 13th century. Then visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India and the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan. Begun in 1644, the mosque was not completed until 1658. Late afternoon tour of Old Delhi and go to hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Drop at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi according to the flight time
