Tour Summary

Day 1    : Arrival in Delhi, then transfer to a hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2    : Flight to Gorakhpur and drive to Lumbini via Sunauli Border. Visit Mayadevi temple and World Peace stupa in Lumbini. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 3    : Drive to Kapilvastu and visit. Then visit Kudan and some monasteries in Lumbini on electric rikshaw. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 4    : Drive to Sravasti by crossing the border. Visit piparhawa Stupa, Jetavana, Sahet Mahet Stupa and Angulimala stupa. Overnight in Sravasti.

Day 5    : Drive to Kushinagar and visit archeological site and monasteries. Overnight in Kushinagar.

Day 6    : Drive to Vaishali and visit the site. Here we visit museum and the birth place of Tirthankara too. Then continue drive to Patna. Overnight in Patna.

Day 7    : Drive to Rajgir. Visit ruins of Nalanda University and museum on the way. Then visit Griddhakuta Parvat, World Peace Stupa and Venuvana bihara . Overnight in Rajgir.

Day 8    : Drive to Bodhgaya. Visit Bodhgaya temple, the great Buddha statue, Tibetan refugee market, Sujata temple and some monasteries.  Overnight in Bodhgaya.

Day 9    : In the morning, participate in puja ceremony of Bodhgaya. After breakfast drive to Sarnath. Overnight in Sarnath.

Day 10 : In the morning, visit archeological site of Sarnath. Afternoon drive to Varanasi and visit different hindu temples and evening participate in aarati ceremony. Overnight in Sarnath.

Day 11 : Flight to Delhi from Varanasi. In Delhi, visit Qutab Minar and evening visit Old Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.

Tour Day by Day

Day 1

Arrival in Delhi

Arrival in Delhi International Airport, meet and greet with our representative. Then transfer to a hotel. Rest of the time is free. Overnight at a hotel in Delhi.
Day 2

Flight to Gorakhpur. Then drive to Lumbini

Morning flight to Gorakhpur. Then drive to Sunauli Border and official processing of visa to Nepal. Continue drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautam is one of the pilgrimage sites of Buddhist people,. Check in at a hotel. Then go to visit the Mayadevi temple and evening Peace stupa. Return back to hotel. Overnight in Lumbini.
Day 03

Kapilvastu and sorrounding

After breakfast, drive to Kapilvastu where we visit the vestige of Suddhodana’s palace. Siddhartha Gautam spent his princely life for 29 years in this palace. Then we go to see Kudan where Buddha and his sangha were welcomed by his father. Then Gotihawa where Krakuchhanda Buddha was born. After, return back to Lumbini and visit some monasteries founded by different countries on the electric rikshaw. Overnight in Lumbini.
Day 04

Lumbini to Sravasti

Early morning drive to Sravasti. It will take approximately 5 and half hours for 200km. On the way, we visit Piparhawa stupa that contains relics of Buddha. Once we arrive in Sravasti, check in at a hotel. Then visit the ancient site of Jetavana. The place is known as an ancient monastery where Buddha spent his monastic life for a long period. Then visit Sahet Mahet stupa which is supposed to relate with Anathapindaka. In this visit we’ll also see the stupa of Angulimala. Overnight in Sravasti.
Day 05

Sravasti to Kushinagar

Almost 5 hours drive from Sravasti we will reach in Kushinagara. The site is known for the place of Budhha’s maha parinirvana (Physical illumination) where Buddha passed away. Here we visit Buddha’s Mahaparinirvana temple constructed in 1903, Mahaparinirvana stupa, archeological site of ancient monastery and some temples and monasteries related to the different countries of Asia. Drive to a hotel. Overnight in Kushinagara.
Day 06

Kushinagar to Vaishali. Then Patana

After 5 and half hours drive, we arrive in Vaishali. A holy site where Buddha frequenty visited to deliver his teaching. This is also the capital city of the republic of Licchavi at the time of Buddha. This is a city of Amrapali, a royal courtesan who donated a mango garden to Buddhist sangha to construct a monastery. This is also a holy land for Jainism because of the birth place of Mahavira Jain, the 23rd Tirthankara of Jain. Here we visit the holy site of Buddha where the stupa containing relics of Buddha, stupa of Ananda (one of the principal disciples of Buddha), vestige of a group of stupas and Ashokan pillar. Then visit Museum and birthplace of Tirthankara and drive to Patna for 1 and half hour. Overnight in Patna.
Day 07

Patna to Rajgir

Drive from Patna to Rajgir. It will take 2 and half hours. On the way we stop to visit the ruins of Nalanda University. The University was established by Kumara Gupta in 5th century AD. It is said that it had 10,000 students and 2,000 masters from different countries at the time of its flourishing. The university was destroyed by a Turkish Mohamad Bakhtiyar Khilji in 12th century. The museum related to the travel of Huan Tchang is also observed during the visit. Then we go to Rajgir and visit Griddhakuta Parvat (vulture peak), Japanese peace stupa, ruin of Bimbisara's Jail and Venuvana (bamboo forest that was the first systematic monastery of buddha sangha in the period of Buddha). Overnight in a hotel, Rajgir.
Day 08

Rajgir to Bodhgaya

Almost 2 and half hours drive, we arrive in Bodhgaya. Once we arrive in Bodhgaya check in Hotel. Then go to visit the sites. Bodhgaya is the one of the 4 pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. This is the place where Siddhartha Gautam accomplished the Mental Illumination (Saupadhisha Nirvana) at the age of 35 years under a Bodhi tree. Here we visit Mahabodhi temple, believed to be the original structure dated back to the Gupta period and surrounding areas. Then visit the great Buddha statue, Tibetan refugee market, Sujata temple (2km away from the city) and some monasteries of different countries. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
Day 09

Bodhgaya to Sarnath

Wake up early in the morning to participate in the puja ceremony at the temple. Then return to the Hotel to take breakfast and check out. Today we spend almost the whole day in driving from Bodhgaya to Sarnath. It will take nearly 7 hours for 244km. Evening is free time. Overnight at a hotel, in Sarnath.
Day 10

Sarnath and Varanasi

Today the visit starts from Sarnath, the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon to five Brahmans. The place is also known as Rishipantana or Mrigadavana, forest of deers, which is the pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Morning we visit archeological site with stupas and Ashokan piler of Sarnath and museum. Afternoon drive to Varanasi. Visit different Hindu temples and ancient city. Evening, participation of aarati ceremony from the boat on the river Ganges. Then return back to a hotel. Overnight in Sarnath.
Day 11

Varanasi to Delhi by flight

After breakfast drive to Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport, Varanasi. Then flight to Delhi. Once arrived in Delhi, visit Qutub Minar, a minaret symbol of victory attached to the Quwwatu’l – Islam mosque for the use of the muadhdhin (crier) to call the people to pray, built by Qutbu’d-Din Aibak in the beginning of the 13th century. Evening visit ancient part of Old Delhi. Overnight at a hotel in Delhi.
Day 12

Departure

Drop at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi according to the flight time.
